Bundesliga: Can Borussia Dortmund end Bayern’s dominance

For some years now, Bayern Munich have been the undisputed Bundesliga Champions as there seem to be no real challenger for the title.

The last time the Bavarians failed to win the Bundesliga title was in 2011-2012 season when they narrowly lose to Borussia Dortmund.

Bayern have dominated the league since 2012 and they have laid hands on seven consecutive to become the most successful club in the Bundesliga history. They are equally the first and only club who have won seven consecutive Bundesliga glories.

RB Leipzig challenged the Bavarians for the title for most part of last season but they couldn’t maintain the tempo as result of their inexperience and lack of proven goalscorer who would partner Timo Werner at the final third of the pitch.

However, their dominance could be brought to an end this season as Borussia Dortmund are looking more like a motivated and determined team.

The BVB have been in top form since the start of the season and they presently sit at the top of the League table with 42 points from 17 matches.

Lucien Favre has been able to inject new blood and new mentality into the squad, hence, the players are putting everything on the line to see that they lift the Bundesliga trophy by the end of of the campaign.

Luckily for Favre’s men, Bayern munich are not doing too well in the League. Since Kovac’s introduction as the man to take charge of the Allianz Arena outfits, results haven’t been going their way and this is definitely the best time for Dortmund to create a huge gap between themselves and their title rivals.

Kovac’s men are second on the League standings with 36 points, six behind the high flying league leaders.

Borussia Dortmund must continue to pick every available points in order to extend their lead at the top of table.

They shouldn’t be too relaxed because their are more fixtures ahead and Bayern are definitely looking for every opportunities to return back to the top of the log as soon as they can.

Should BVB continue with their form, it is certain that a new Bundesliga Champions will emerge — by the end of the season — after seven years.
