Liverpool plotting transfer swoop for €50 million-rated

According to reports, Premier League and Champions League finalist Liverpool are interested in signing Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez.

If reports bears fruit at all, the Reds could complete the signing of the forward for cut price should his suffers relegation in La Liga at the end of the season.

Gomez has enjoyed a brilliant season in Spain and has 13 goals and five assists to his name for Celta Vigo this season across 34 league appearances.

Gomez has developed a formidable partnership in attack with former Liverpool striker Iago Aspas, and should be able to adapt to life in the Premier League.

According to Ovacion Digital, the 22-year-old could be available for a cut-price fee of €25 million in the event Celta Vigo are relegated and Liverpool are plotting a potential swoop for the €50 million-rated goalscorer – valuation cited by Ovacion Digital.

Liverpool have just missed out on winning the Premier League title this season, as they finished one point behind Manchester City who have been crowned Premier League Champions for the second successive season and in doing so become the first Club to retain the title in over a decade.

Liverpool, however, have a Champions League final against Tottenham Hotspur to look forward to in June but in order to stay competitive in the domestic league for years to come, acquisitions of new reinforcements will be needed this summer.

Maxi Gomez would be an excellent new addition to the club’s ranks and given his age, there is every chance he could develop into a world-class forward in the near future.

However, the Uruguay international would probably have to be content playing in a back-up role at Anfield, to begin with, which might affect his final decision when the transfer market reopens.
