Why Brahim Diaz’s move to Real Madrid could be a regrettable decision

Manchester City academy product Brahim Diaz completed a ‘shock’ move to Real Madrid in a deal which was said to have cost £19m according to BBC Sports.

The 19-year-old joined the Etihad outfits from Malaga at the age of 14. He spent just five years with the Premier League Champions before his decision to join the Los Blancos on Monday.

Is Brahim Diaz joining Real Madrid a good option?

It’s every player’s dream to play for big clubs like Madrid but it’s not all player who join big clubs gets regular game-time.

At such a younger age, Brahim Diaz’s move to Real Madrid appears to be an untimely and a premature one.

The team have many established wingers and strikers at their disposal, hence, it’s very much unlikely to see the Spanish under-21 international breaks into Solari’s team so soon.

Marcos Asensio is a very young striker who plays in the same position with the latest Madrid player and you can’t imagine Solari dropping the one-time Chelsea target for the inexperienced Diaz.

Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale won’t be dropped to the substitute bench by the former Madrid Castilla’s manager irrespective of their recent unimpressive display for the team.

Are we set to see another Martin Ødegaard

After enjoying a successful breakout season with Tippeligaen side Strømsgodset in 2014, Martin Odegaard joined Madrid at the age of 15 and went on to break many records.

His first season at Santiago Bernabeu was good, though, he spent most of it with the youth team.

After his first season with the Los Blancos, the Norwegian moved from one loan to another and his blistering rise to fame was brought to an abrupt end.

Just like the Norwegian international, Brahim Diaz is now at Santiago Bernabeu and he will train with the first-team squad for the rest of the season.

The Spanish youngster will be loaned out to another club before the start of next season and i hope that won’t be the start of his downfall just like Odegaard

It may appear too early to start criticising the youngster’s decision to join Madrid, but a move to Santiago Bernabeu is not the best for his development and it might turn out to be a very painful, regrettable and career-threatening one.

The Los Blancos returns to action tonight in the Copa Del Rey against Leganes and are primed favourites to earn all points tonight according to our Football Tips experts while there are chances Brahim Diaz could be handed his debut against the Pepineros. Please, bet responsibly!
